For example: - anyone remember the “affluent beggar” thread? She was profiled by a major news source (was it the Post? The WP ? And soooo many other stories and posts. Many Investigative journalists follow them from time to time. Most are not homeless. But the intersection beggars, in particular, have been investigated and mostly found to be organized rings. I am not saying it is every single begger. Of course the people sleeping in tents under the bridges near Rock Creek Park are truly and sadly homeless (though I don’t often see them begging). Some beggars are homeless. Most of the intersection beggars are scammers, I believe.[/quote]
