If I have orange-hue hardwoods, what white is good?
BM simply white is great. My house with somewhat orange-y floors has SW shell white that I love, but it’s definitely off white. Simply white is more white.
Ps the reason for simply white is it has yellow undertones. With your orangey floors to me it works best to embrace that and not have anything too cool, which would contrast in a bad way. It’s tough because we kind of revolt against what we had before right. Like my mother had orange oak floors and BM Navajo White trim, and when I got my own place in 2008 I couldn’t paint it gray fast enough with a crazy bright white trim. Now a lot of people are going back around again because they’re tired of gray. But no matter what if you aren’t changing the floors, you can’t fight them.
