In today's market I don't think it makes a difference. Sell as is.

It definitely would be if you had a 2000’s gray floor and cool white cabinets.

Maybe some kind of beige on the walls and a compatible white for trim.

Look at new builders color for inspiration.

Ps the reason for simply white is it has yellow undertones. With your orangey floors to me it works best to embrace that and not have anything too cool, which would contrast in a bad way.

It’s tough because we kind of revolt against what we had before right. Like my mother had orange oak floors and BM Navajo White trim, and when I got my own place in 2008 I couldn’t paint it gray fast enough with a crazy bright white trim. Now a lot of people are going back around again because they’re tired of gray. But no matter what if you aren’t changing the floors, you can’t fight them.

Probably BM Classic gray then. It's so light that in areas where there is lots of natural light you can hardly see it.

NP. There are lots of online lifestyle bloggers who do up their rooms in various shades of white to see what works best. They'll talk about undertones, matching your blue vs. beige furniture, and so on.

I never had a lot of time for this sort of thing, but when I was painting my rooms I found the info really useful. I think some of them may be paid by paint companies, but the info about undertones, pigments that go into the mixes, and paint finishes was useful for me.

We’ve been touring several houses and most of them are painted white with the faintest hint of gray.

Not white, white looks too stark.

I am going to paint my house now and tried various colors:

BM Edge comb gray is a neutral beige - it looks more like an off-white where there is lots of light

BM Classic gray - it is like white with a hint of gray. It's a great neutral for while house but not sure how it would work with orangey gun stock colored floors

SW Alabaster/Dover white - builder painted our whole house this off white. It makes the house look bright. It would work with any floor, anywhere. It appears like a white wall (not the high reflective pure white you see in hospitals, but warmer)

As a PP suggested, go with a neutral that matches the flooring. If different kinds of flooring, stick with the Chantilly lace, dover white, alabaster.
