Is it weird to order steak in an establishment that specializes in serving steak? Is that your question?
I assume 99.9% of steakhouse patrons get apps or sides — at least frites. I only want a steak.
Steakhouse sides are sized to be shared, and people often don't get them if they are dining alone. Is this your first time at a steakhouse, or dining out at all?
I’m aware. But you could still start with soup or salad. Maybe a shrimp cocktail. And most steakhouses have a petite filet + potato + veggie menu item. I want none of that. Just wasn’t sure how abnormal this would be to the server or bartender.
First, stop posting multiple virtually identical responses. Second, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe the bartender will think this is nuts, and you're the strangest patron he ever served. (He won't, but let's assume.) So what? He'll still smile at you, bring your your lonely, (flavorless, but very tender) steak, and go on with his day. He won't think about you again after you sign your receipt. Are you worries that your picture will be passed around to all the steakhouses in the area? "Beware of this patron, who only orders steak!"
