That’s how it is with a lot of AP classes and exactly how it use to be in the beginning.  Kids would take basic or honors levels of a class, determine they liked the subject area and wanted more depth and rigor and then take an AP. So intro bio and then AP Bio later in HS.  Why student and parents now think they should be able to just jump into AP classes I don’t know.

Yes. It's only in recent years that I've seen MCPS pushing kids directly into AP-level courses which is odd to me.[/quote]
