We grew up a few blocks from one another and were in adjacent social circles but I was a year ahead in grade. Became a couple a few months before I graduated from high school 26 years ago. I went to university 3 hrs away, so went home on the weekends a lot. He joined me at school the next year. We lived in different states for 5 years after university while we each earned our graduate degrees.
