[/quote] I'd rather invite someone to a big gathering than a small one so other people can help to entertain the guest. I think it's fair to be a little annoyed that DH didn't clear it with you. I was annoyed when DH invited someone to stay with us without asking me first because we had home projects going on, and clearing those up before the guest arrived on short notice meant loads more work for me when I already had work deadlines to meet.
