I assume this was probably telegraphed in a group chat and maybe you didn't pick up on it? The group has run its course. If you're REALLY friends with 1 or 2 of them, consider yourself lucky. Most people still talk to literally 0 friends from high school.[/quote]

Not necessarily.  There could be many reasons.  Maybe several used to drink and don’t now for various reasons, so they’re less fun.  Or they have family obligations and illnesses on their mind.  That happened in my friend group.  I still appreciate their friendship but the get togethers are definitely lower energy now in our mid 40s.  [/quote]
