I assume this was probably telegraphed in a group chat and maybe you didn't pick up on it? The group has run its course. If you're REALLY friends with 1 or 2 of them, consider yourself lucky. Most people still talk to literally 0 friends from high school.

If you want to keep this up, maybe plan an activity next year instead of dinner? Canvas painting with wine, axe-throwing, etc. That way there's something to talk about it. It's okay to have an off year. Doesn't mean it's all over.
