I married into a family that believes everyone gets a gift on Christmas. It's so bizarre and childish to me to make a christmas list/wish list as an adult for my ILs. I have adult money and can buy what I want, and I do 99% of the time. That 1% is for the super frivolous, uber-expensive things that I would only buy if I had tons of disposable income and not things I would ever ask someone to buy me. I usually like the gifts my ILs give me because they only buy what I have put on my list. I don't see the point in it at all. I don't usually like the gifts that most friends give.
