I am a woman who was sexually assaulted by another woman. I've thought about this a lot. I think in the end it comes down to power, and I think control. The woman who assaulted me wanted someone she could manipulate, and who no one would believe if I came forward. I'm not the only person she did this to. There were others, both men and women, always younger (sometimes much younger). Many were people who had worked under or had a mentor-mentee type relationship with her.

I think exploiting us made her feel more powerful in her own life. She had major childhood trauma and serious mental health issues.

I also think this is probably why most men sexually assault women. I know people think it's desire, and I'm sure that's often part of it. But it's more than that, because why would men want a woman who doesn't want them? Even if very attracted to her.

It's about control.[/quote]
