David Axelrod, a prominent Democratic political strategist and former White House official, said on Sunday that President Joe Biden needed to think carefully about whether he should continue to seek reelection. “Only @JoeBiden can make this decision,” Axelrod wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “If he continues to run, he will be the nominee of the Democratic Party. What he needs to decide is whether that is wise; whether it’s in HIS best interest or the country’s?”
https://www.politico.com/news/2023/11/05/former-obama-strategist-biden-presidential-race-00125435
I agree. Biden has really messed up with his response to Israel and there is no way to come back from it. That situation will only get worst. Ideally the republicans impeach, remove him from office and bar him from running/serving again. That would rally the democrats but remove Biden from the ticket.
Biden has not messed up the response to israel. The far left of the Democratic Party has lost its mind.
Oh yes he has. He lost 14% in the polls after his Israel trip. Another candidate could steer the party is away from Israel to a more favorable position with the American people.
There isn't another viable Preident or Presidential candidate who would do any less than Biden has on Israel. Interestingly, today's readout suggested some cease-fire zones within Gaza, so you are already seeing Biden's influence to help ease things there.
How do you know who would get in to the race if Biden drops out? This is the first time a politician lost a big chunk of support (and it was within his own party) for unconditional support of Israel. This is an earthquake within US politics. Biden has no influence with anyone in Israel, Gaza, Palestinians or anyone else in the Middle East. Biden publicly throw his lot in with the Israelis. This is shown by Blinken inability to meet with anyone but Israel and they are tired of him. Blinken is like a wandering homeless man with a squeegee approaching your car. People see him coming, lock their doors, avoid eye contact and shake their head no. When Biden took his trip to Israel he said he was a Zionist. This means Israel will not listen to him about how to conduct the war, civilian casualties, lip services to a two state solution, etc They know no matter what Israel does Biden will support them fully. Whatever Biden said publicly is just noise for domestic consumption but not meant for the Israelis.
