The thread on graduating from schools with low grad rates spurred me to think more about why some colleges have very low graduation rates. Any thoughts or better rankings for this? I have one from DegreeChoices which is more empirically sound than this one, but this one raised some good points to consider such as prevalence of law suits against universities. 50 worst colleges in America https://shebudgets.com/news/worst-colleges/ SheBudgets ranks Colleges based on their graduation rate, quality of education, the school’s reputation, cost, and the percentage of graduates who find jobs. Obviously, this ranking is not scientific but interesting nonetheless. Many deserve to be on list with low graduation rates around 20% or less, high tuition, poor management, and poor job prospects afterwards However not sure all the colleges on its list deserve to be there: Marquette 84% grad rate but claims of high crime RPI in NY 61% grad rate but claims of students free speech quashed University of DC 18% grad rate and tired facilities Georgetown in DC 45 % grad rate but claims free speech quashed
Does Georgetown really have only a 45% grad rate? That seems implausible given its stature especially in medicine and law studies … a lot of students do complain about the accommodations being subpar though …
Yeah, that's wrong info. Georgetown has a six year graduation rate of 96%. And I am not a fan of Georgetown, but this ranking is weird.
It might be related to first amendment law suits or something since the article mentioned freedom of speech being hampered there …
