When I go out with friends, I eat and enjoy myself. If we do appetizers/desserts, I share with someone or just eat half. I never eat anywhere near my full entree. But I don’t not try stuff or skip a course everyone else is having. For the rest of the day, I will eat very little and stick to fruit and veggies. I usually add in an extra workout either that day or the next. But I enjoy restaurants and trying new food with friends so it’s all worth it to me.
You did not understand the point of this post. OP my overweight SIL constantly brings over food to my house and tells me “don’t forget to eat” “I made you dinner” etc. I wonder if it’s some type of subconscious jealousy on her part because I lost about 25 lbs a few years ago and kept it off. I also am careful about food and exercise and she knows that. I try to remember it’s really about her issues with food when she does and says stuff that annoy me.
No, I didn’t. My point is don’t be the annoying friend making a big deal about “being careful” and your friends won’t even notice or say anything. I’ve lost 75 lbs so I know what I’m talking about. Don’t shift your obsession about overeating food to a new obsession with eating very little food. Moderation and balance is the key to keeping the weight off.
I tend to agree with this. OP may not be as lowkey as she is making herself sound. Down 60 pounds after starting Ozempic/Wegovy and not a single other soul knows. I eat a quarter of what I used to and no friend or family member has said much of anything, and we are an extended family that loves to eat, loves to drink, loves to have food-focused gatherings and loves to go out to eat. And are not shy about staying out of people’s business. So how is OP behaving that this is a problem?
I don't think there's enough info here to say that. I'm glad that your family doesn't bug you, but there are definitely people that would act like the OP's friends without prompting.
