I am tempted to dig it out of my trash to post it here. It was a weird rambling list of how he wants policing of our schools and truancy and how he’s going to have a regular Radio Show!! It read like a list from 1952. I couldn’t throw it away fast enough. Do I think the present behavior in schools is acceptable? No. But I don’t want some old Radio Show guy sending our police out to nab the truants and pull kids out of school in handcuffs.
You ... don't want that? You want no discouragement for truancy?
If a police sees children playing walking or doing whatever wherever during school time, the police should not invoke their authority to intimidate the children.
Chronic absenteeism is a serious problem and the pandemic has caused it to spike. Kids who are supposed to be in school are supposed to be in school. Having Officer Friendly remind them of that is not a bad thing. But you knew that.
having an officer do that is unconstitutional. They would be removed from office if they went around doing this. No prosecutor is going to prosecute this crime.
