I understand where you got this guidance regarding passing but you’ve over generalized it. Dribbling down the field and protecting your ball is a good skill. [/quote] Agree with this. And if a player gets the ball in space, they need to use the space to advance the ball and draw defenders out of their shape and away from their teammates to get them open. Nothing worse than seeing a player get the ball with 20 yards of open space in front of them and immediately pass it to a teammate who, the moment they get it, is going to be challenged. [/quote]
