I don't think they publish a lot of information on the ID clinics.  It's very hard to predict.  I don't think they want the system to be transparent, as they want flexibility.

To answer the OP, my understanding is that the coach needs to recommend players, and a scout needs to come and watch those players, I believe at least twice.

Our team only got 2 players invited and did significantly better that two other teams in our conference  that each got 4-5 players invited. I’m having a hard time believing that our coach only recommended 2 so maybe the rest just didn’t get seen?[/quote]

It's possible the coach recommended more players and they didn't get scouted in time. Or scout didn't like something for whatever reason. It's still a very subjective process. And some coaches seem to have more influence than others. Also, although a team might not be as good, the players invited may be playing above age level on a club's older team. It is not an exact science, so some deserving players will get left out, but I believe ultimately they are only looking for a couple of standouts.[/quote]
