Northwood will move to the new Woodward building on Old Georgetown Rd in summer 2024
How will kids get there? Will they run busses from all over the DCC? I don't actually know how DCC bussing works.
DCC busses are fairly centralized, so usually kids walk further for the DCC bus than they would for their "home school" bus. In my experience, the biggest issue with DCC bussing is that it does not include activity busses all the way back to the pick-up spot, but it does include bussing to the nearest transit center. So, if my kid is zoned for Blair but attending Einstein, they would get picked up about a quarter mile from home to go to Einstein, but the closest they would get on the activity bus would be Wheaton Metro. For the Northwood relocation, though, I would expect robust bussing options. The schedule would be earlier, but I'd expect the stops to be roughly the same, just going further.
