But not necessarily to do well in algebra at school. Topics might not be taught in the same order/same way/same time. We tried to do this with an aops algebra class, and our kid learned some algebra but it didn’t overlap enough with class to make up for what was lacking there or to improve grades. We’ve also done RSM in the past, and it’s good for enrichment, but I don’t think it will make up for deficits in the class. I think tutoring would be better in this situation to target and reinforce what’s being covered at school. [/quote]
