It's not MPD issuing tickets for the trash can, it's an inspector. We've gotten a few over the years in ward 7, they occasionally do sweeps of the alleys. Willing to bet it was the construction that they noticed and caused them to take a closer look. Also, could be a neighbor complained. It also probably wasn't MPD giving the parking ticket, likely was the city's parking enforcement crew which is a separate thing.
It was definitely an "inspector" who gave me the citation for the trash can. Octavia was just wonderful... I know our parking enforcement officer well. We have been in our current house more than 20 years. The $50 ticket I received was from a MPD officer, as his information is on the ticket. I'm so happy that he decided to ticket my vehicle (that was literally 2 inches past the legal parking sign). He wrote the ticket at 2:15 am and gave me a ticket that makes no sense. The legal parking sign is within one foot of the Stop Sign. He charged me with a violation of parking "within 25 feet of a Stop sign" although legal parking is within 2 feet of the Stop sign. WTF!
