I would assume it's b/c he wants to see his child. Since you've always been willing to let him do spend time with the child (even if that has never transpired), I suggest you at least approach it this way. Suggest an outing with the three of you. Won't be comfortable for you, I'm sure, but it will give you a chance to size things up. If you go in with the attitude of you're going to ensure he's cut off and he has to earn the trust, you're not going to win over a judge. Dad has parental rights too.[/quote]
