Thanks all! I might try Evolve; thank you for that recommendation. A few g of sugar is OK. I just avoid artificial sweeteners including sweeteners like stevia (which I think tastes gross). If any other recs, please keep them coming.
Curious, OP. Why is your protein goal so high?
This was my question as well
Not OP, but I'm trying to lose weight.
But you’ll never lose weight eating 120g of non-animal protein. Vegan protein is incredibly dense in calories unless you plan on eating nothing but tofu, or your weight in spinach.
Does eating protein result in weight loss?
That's an extremely complicated question to answer. Consumed protein is broken down into amino acids, which the body uses to make new proteins for tissue repair, growth (e.g., muscle), and for other things. Protein should not be the primary source of energy for the body, though. Think of protein as the source of building blocks for the body to repair and grow. Instead, energy for action, movement, etc., comes from fat and carbohydrates. In the absencen of sufficient fat and carbs for energy, the body can use protein (ingested or from lean mass) for energy, but at an high cost. Protein is an inefficient source of energy for the body, which will "waste" a lot in the form of heat when converting to glucose. The body can and will break down and use stored fat as a preferred source. So, under some circumstances, the answer to your question could be, "yes." For example, if you eat only protein, the body will go to stored fats for energy, which is weight loss.
