It's the type of place where your kid can drop out of another college and Trinity will enroll your kid mid-year for full pay no application needed if you're an alum. Take from that what you will.
yep. I am from Connecticut. It's a mediocre school for mediocre students. Many of whom end up on Wall Street. Note that I didn't say dumb kids. Many of them are intelligent but not hard working. My best friend's daughter is a current student. She could have done better (full pay; came from a well known boarding school) but she kind of half asses everything. So, Trinity it is.
Great, you can't handle criticism of your S-tpost so you report it but your bs gets to stay. Aren't you special. Trinity ranked #39 out of 500 LACs. By what math is that mediocre?
That was my only post on this thread and I haven't reported anything (ever) so I've no idea what you're on about. Trinity is one of the worst returns on your college investment there is: "Trinity College is ranked #2,191 out of 2,223 for value nationwide." https://www.collegefactual.com/colleges/trinity-college/paying-for-college/value-for-your-money/#google_vignette How about a look at some Unigo comments from students/graduates? https://www.unigo.com/colleges/trinity-college/what-is-your-overall-opinion-of-this-school Each quote is from a different student. "The best thing about Trinity is the classes, teachers, and the relaxed stance on drinking and drugs :). " "Why on earth have the faculty or administration not tried harder to push and push for inclusivity? It should be normalized not seen as something new. There is little to no exposure of what is acceptable when you are confronted with people who aren't really wealthy, didn't go to your boarding school, aren't white (and no your 1 or .5 black/person of color friends don't count.) It's disappointing. That's my opinion." "a closer examination of the college reveals that its small size is stifling, its aesthetically beautiful campus is severely incongruous with the surrounding area, and its impressive academic potential is virtually wasted on a student body that is at once apathetic and incompetent." "The worst thing about Trinity is the student's apathetic attitudes. When problems or issues arise and need to be addressed, people seem more concerned with defending themselves and being aggressive towards other groups than actually taking a good look at themselves and seeing what they can change and if some of the fault truly lies with them. People tend to talk, talk, and talk, and then not actually get anything done."
I looked at that college factual ranking system. Their 25 "best value" schools include nothing but garbage: BYU Provo, University of Phoenix (!), Central Georgia Technical College, Eastern Gateway Community College, Central Texas College, Georgia Northwestern Technical College, and a bunch of other obscure schools that look like VoTech. I don't know about you, but I'm inclined to disregard their opinion on the ROI of Trinity. As for the student comments, any website that takes student comments is a lot like Yelp - many people only comment because they're mad about something. You can go to any college and find 1 and 2 star reviews. Even Harvard has 1 and 2 star reviews on Niche! Usually poor reviews fall into a few common categories: (1) URM is mad about discrimination and lack of diversity; (2) Unpopular loser is made about too many Greeks and athletes on campus; (3) Someone is mad about dorms, parking, or weather. You can find over three hundred 4 and 5 star reviews of Trinity on Niche (about half of all reviews). Looks to me like the negative comments here are from typical DCUM snobs.
