[/quote] I would have laughed because that seems like such a typical thing. Not just for young adults, but for everyone who has a maid (we don't). They pick up so the house can be cleaned by others. It's normal for that population, and that makes it gently amusing. To me, at any rate. It's not a criticism. We have the version where everyone has to pick up because I decided that we had time to clean the house together. So you're just being insulting to this family because you felt judged.
