My mom had a really bad temper when I was a kid and said some really awful things to me and to my siblings in front of me that I still remember. But I can't remember her ever apologizing or taking responsibility for losing her cool, and I think that's the difference (at least I hope!). No parent is perfect 100% of the time but I've found a lot of power in having humility as a parent and being willing to say "hey, I messed that up, let me try again." I feel like I have a pretty good relationship with my DD.[/quote]
