I have worked under several administrations. The party does not correspond to much. It depends where you work. Some agencies are always more favored under one administration than another and you’ll talk to people who will tell you it was worst under Bush or Obama, depending on the situation at their agency at that time. Your job is to remain apolitical at work and do your job to the best of your ability, given the resources you have in the best interest of the American public. Leaving helps nothing, does it? It can be easier to work at an agency that isn’t that politically divisive. Like, if you work for CFPB you will always be anxious. If you’re looking to leave because you’re worried about the potential reclassification of your job….which loses security over the job you are thinking to leave? Anyway. It’s up to you…..Federal service isn’t for everyone.
I have also worked for several administrations and I think you did not read OP's comment. The Republican party these days is nothing like the Republican party of Bush and prior Republican administrations. Donald Trump politicized the issue of civil service, which is a huge distractions for public servants like us who just want to work hard and go home at the end of the day.
