During the last administration, it was quite worrisome to hear people in power constantly attacking federal employees and the deep state, and it just fees like that will be on turbocharge in the next administration. Interested if others are looking for non-gov jobs already. I love my coworkers and my agency, but I just don't know if I can take another four years of this. I also worry that they'll reclassify a lot of our jobs so we lose civil service protections.
If DT wins 2024, it will be pretty bad. I think his revenge tour will be a bloodbath for many agencies.
If he wins, I think Fed jobs will be the least of our problems.

Some agencies are always more favored under one administration than another and you’ll talk to people who will tell you it was worst under Bush or Obama, depending on the situation at their agency at that time.
Your job is to remain apolitical at work and do your job to the best of your ability, given the resources you have in the best interest of the American public. Leaving helps nothing, does it? It can be easier to work at an agency that isn’t that politically divisive. Like, if you work for CFPB you will always be anxious.
If you’re looking to leave because you’re worried about the potential reclassification of your job….which loses security over the job you are thinking to leave?
Anyway. It’s up to you…..Federal service isn’t for everyone.

The hearings over Hunter Biden and the IRS and FBI has been damaging to the concept of an apolitical agency. I can have sympathy for Republicans on the warpath. The sad part is that many innocent people and jobs could be wiped out.
I don't know what will happen if Turnip manages to get reelected. I don't think he will. But assuming he is, and has a R congress, what happens next is anyone's game. Turnip has historically been more bark than bite and didn't achieve a whole lot under his previous administration. I don't think he has the discipline nor attention span for massive agency reform.
