A huge number of them are remote workers looking to get more house for their dollar, better weather, etc. They aren't moving there to pick tomatoes or spread concrete. It's not a question of whether or not FL is a desirable place to live, it's a question of whether the jobs that need to be done are desirable to the people moving there. And they aren't. And I agree that we should pay a living wage as a default to all workers, which might make those jobs interesting to more Americans. But the fact is that we as a country are not to suddenly be cool with paying $4/tomato or a house costing significantly more in order to make that happen. [/quote]
