[
quote=Anonymous]What is "On reading level" for a first grader. My first grader tested at 16, but I'm not sure where she is. My 4th grader tested at a letter, maybe a "T". Where do I find what these letters and numbers mean?

I looked through DC's stuff and believe you are referring to the "Text Level Chart" for K-5 For grade 1 the reading target for the end of Fourth Quarter is Level 16-17 (or level I) For grade 4 the reading target for the end of Fourth Quarter is Level S-T So both your children have met the MCPS targets for reading and are on grade level. I have a printout my kid's teacher gave me in 2008 and at the bottom it says OCIP Department of Curriculum and Instruction Reading Language Arts June 20, 2008 The title of the chart is "Reading Targets"
I'd been searching, with no luck, thanks so much!
