Individual schools do this, not just the wealthy ones. Call the guidance counselor at the school. Mccpta put out a list.
Some people claim that, but nobody has ever named one outside of Potomac, so seems unlikely.
You can do this all over the county, but people are leery of mentioning their school. Plus, it only applies to a tiny portion of the population. But every single time this comes up on DCUM, here is the troll, spewing venom at Potomac, for some reason. What did that part of MCPS ever do to you?
Not really, the only schools that do this are in Potomac but for some reason, the PP likes to pretend otherwise.
The earlier poster is understandably concerned that if becomes common knowledge that these wealthy schools are providing opportunities that aren't available elsewhere the county will put an end to it.
A year ago, someone from upcounty said their school was very happy to place their kid in Algebra 1 in 6th grade. They did not specify the school. It wasn't a wealthy district. These are the types of responses given on DCUM, so I can only relay that, without being able to to share the school name. I have no reason to lie. I don't know why people are so intent on this being only a "wealthy school perk". Jealousy isn't a good look, people.
