It’s Amazon etc that are creating the market for this stuff. No one would steal an entire CVS store’s supply of detergent if they couldn’t sell it cheap at online websites. Amazon no longer cares about the quality or source of things sold on its site.
It's not getting sold on Amazon. It ends up in bodegas and shipped abroad. There's a network of middlepeople that facilitate this. Tide is the street currency. https://nymag.com/news/features/tide-detergent-drugs-2013-1/
Some of it is surely being sold on Amazon. That doesn't excuse the crime, but it'd be good if someone could crack down on sales of stolen goods there, too.
JFC enough with the Amazon crap! I dislike Amazon, Ebay, etc. as much as the next guy, this stuff is going to happen until you people get over your idea of a perfect utopia where we all hold hands and sing happily. These kids need to be locked up, as should their parents. You would not coddle your own children if they exhibited these behaviors (at least I hope you would not) and you are only searching for an answer to this other than personal responsibility because you do not want to be called a racist. These kids need to be locked up! As for your future elections, huh, what a joke. You always think you'll do this social stuff the right way this time and you get duped every single time. D.C. is pathetic right now, walk through downtown, look at the abandoned stores in Georgetown, the smashed in windows at the Chanel store in NW from last weeks robbery (third time for that store) and you will see all you need to see. Several years ago while driving home from work late one Summer evening on McArthur in the Palisades I was attacked, yes attacked, with my children in the car by a huge crowd of wild bicyclists banging our cars with metal rods as they rode straight into the traffic. These kids are now the young men and women riding the dirt bikes throughout the city and yes, vandalizing our stores and personal safety. Did anyone not vote for Bowser after this downfall started, nope, she is still sitting there. You blame this on the Council and you act as though she has no back door impact on the Council. F g joke.
