I'm just curious, do you all travel abroad so much that this is worth it? We don't have it. Have traveled to Europe twice in the last year and can't say that it was a detriminent not to have it. Never had a bit of delay getting through. What's the deal?
It's $15 more than PreCheck, and includes PreCheck as a benefit, so yes it's worth $3/year (it's good for 5 years) to possibly save 45-60 minutes after leaving a long international flight. Also, some credit cards will cover the cost, so there is no direct out of pocket cost. We are also lucky in DC to have interview location downtown, so it can be done with very little time commitment- I did my interview one morning on my way to work, and didn't have to interview again when recently renewing. I think for most people the PreCheck aspect is the most beneficial on an ongoing basis, but if you travel internationally say twice in a 5 year period, I think it can easily be worth it for.thw extra $15.
