I did a new application online- got back my conditional status in 3 days. Used the on-departure option at Dulles for the interview. Took 10 minutes. By the time I was sitting in my plane seat have my known traveler number. 2 weeks later I received the card in the mail.

The caveats here are I haven't moved in 20 years, had the same job for 7. Pretty easy to verify who I am.

Like other poster said, I mainly got it for the TSA pre-check as I do travel domestically pretty frequently. International maybe 2-3x/year. But even without GE, mobile passport app was just fine for getting through quickly. I mainly wanted the precheck and GE is only $15 more.

Took 10 months for my renewal. Started process in May 2022

As stated above, it can be done with very little hassle, especially if you work downtown. My total time spent for 10 years was filling out an online form twice (10 minutes x 2), and going to work one day 20 minutes early to stop at Federal Triangle, so 40 minutes total time. Easily worth it.

Of course it's worth the money. It's such a small amount to money but is it worth the hassle.

It's $15 more than PreCheck, and includes PreCheck as a benefit, so yes it's worth $3/year (it's good for 5 years) to possibly save 45-60 minutes after leaving a long international flight. Also, some credit cards will cover the cost, so there is no direct out of pocket cost. We are also lucky in DC to have interview location downtown, so it can be done with very little time commitment- I did my interview one morning on my way to work, and didn't have to interview again when recently renewing.

I think for most people the PreCheck aspect is the most beneficial on an ongoing basis, but if you travel internationally say twice in a 5 year period, I think it can easily be worth it for.thw extra $15.

Got conditional approval for my kids within 3-4 days of applying. Got an appointment for both kids 2 months later, but I understand you get approved very quickly after the interviews.

Took 4 months for conditional approval.. Interview the next day (luck). Final approval 14 months after that.

Last year me, my spouse, and two kids all applied. Three of them were conditionally approved within 2-3 days and using Global Entry Now website we found interviews and they were all set within a month....but not me! It took 7 months for conditional approval. So you just have to go for it and hope!!!

This. DH and I applied (he for his first, mine for renewal). Last June. I'm still waiting for conditional approval, he got his completed in about 2 weeks.
