The Easter menu post lists Mac n cheese and potatoes on the same menu. I always have a green salad and several side veggies, bug I would never think to make two starches. Am I missing out? Is this regional?
For the big meals, we usually have three: bread, potato and something else like macaroni and cheese. We have multiple veggies and usually multiple proteins as well as some sort of a fruit salad. My parents were from the Midwest, but moved to New England, where my sister and I grew up. I have been in the DC area for my adult life. There were always multiple starches where ever I have prepared or attended for the big holiday meals. It is part of the holiday meal to have many different options for everyone. It is definitely not regional.
