I honestly very much disagree with the bolded. The PTO is alway begging people to volunteer at events, etc and absolutely takes all comers. I joined the Auction Committee as a way to get to know people while helping out and I’ve found it great. I’m OOB and none of the people running it have kids in my kid’s grades and they couldn’t be friendlier. They’re also a great source of info and gossip if you just ask. Most of the Board has kids in different years and didn't even know each other before getting elected, so the clique thing seems a stretch. Anyway, seriously, I urge you to get involved now if you want to meet people.
