She'll go to one of the LACs that gave her a big merit award. She was already leaning against W&M because a [b]few good friends got in ED and she really doesn't want to go to college with HS friends.[/b] Personally, I think study abroad + Spring start could help her build a non-HS group and could be a good option but she's already mentally moved on. Her preferred LAC does have some unique things for her major that W&M doesn't offer and it costs a lot less so it's all good.[/quote]

That should really not be a worry.  W&M is large enough for them to hardly ever cross path or be in the same courses.  Unless they all pursuit the same major.  I am speaking from DD experience that had in her class the largest ever group of 15 kids go to W&M.  She rarely sees them on campus and has none in any of her classes.

But then a big merit award is always good, and the if her heart is there, then it will be right choice.  :)
