Did you see how Congress was hostile and rude to him? Did you see how many times he was interrupted all while trying to keep calm and sane despite the rude AF questions, not to mention the glaringly stupid ones? I mean, these are people who know nothing about the internet, yet they'll be making decisions on how Americans should use it. I'm shocked; and I'm even more shocked that they can quickly come together in a bipartisan manner to focus on TikTok but somehow can't agree on gun reform Like these people care about kids, my ass. Wait. You actually think it's one app's job to moderate the entire internet?

I'm going to suggest that Facebook, instagram, and Twitter have way more misinformation than Tiktok. Tiktok is probably one of the better social media apps when it comes to filtering content. That's part of the reason Meta is spending so much money trying to take Tiktok down. Tiktok is doing it better and has made facebook/instagram even more irrelevant.

No I think that point of moderating and regulating the internet is Congress job and should NOT be left to "private" companies. They should all be held accountable. And I don't know why you have such a hard-on for TikTok. You act like they are a victim. They are not. Kids are. Remember that.

States are doing more, like Utah

They also force social media companies to allow parents to access posts and messages from their child’s account.

The laws also prohibit social media companies from displaying ads to minors, showing minor accounts in search results, collecting information about minors, targeting or suggesting content to minors, or knowingly integrating addictive technologies into social media apps used by minors. They also impose a curfew on the use of social media for minors, locking them out of their social media accounts between 10:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. based on the location of a user’s device, unless adjusted with the consent of a parent.
