I am reviving this thread with hopes that the OP and previous responders give updates. My ferritin was 28 when my hair was shedding terribly. I believe my ferritin tanked due to a poor diet and high intensity exercising (that was a result of the pandemic- trying to avoid the reality I was living in). Before the pandemic, my ferritin was in the high 50s. My MD retested my blood for other reasons and my ferritin was up to 42. My hair shedding is almost back to normal but I am almost BALD! I’ve been taking iron in the mornings along with a glass of juice and upped my intake of iron rich foods during the 5 weeks. I am now eager to get the 42 close to 100 by the end of the year. For hair regrowth, I am not going to get an Rx just yet because I think my hair loss was due to my low (although within range) ferritin but I’ve been taking biotin, zinc, and magnesium supplements. Anyone have success regrowing their hair without prescription meds or rogaine where hair loss was due to vitamin deficiency? What other changes have you made to help your success? And how long did it take to see results and get your hair back to normal? I’ll take 75% back to normal. TIA
