5-10 pounds will make a difference, but it’s not much, and it’s difficult if that’s all that’s needed to get to your goal weight, especially right now when it’s still cold outside. Wait until you’re 30 pounds overweight like me, in the obese range, and your blood pressure is teetering on problematic - then you will be super motivated and not mind being a little hungry.
now that is a motivator! find a gym your kids like- one that has a lifeguard pool/indoor play area and have the kids there and workout for 30 min, go to sauna/hottub for 30. then work up the exercise factor. we absolve eating a really yummy dinner so I figured out a few salad and soup recipes that feel super indulgent and yummy and used our beans/lentil intake. I started fitting. better in my clothes like 2 weeks in. find a way to workout that is self care. I'm too lazy and love food too much plus have 3 kids and middle schoolers are exhausting, at least my 4 year old is super stinking cute plus it doesnt really matter if I lose that battle, 7th grade it matters more=more stress. so I just started doing the, working out a bit, sauna and hot tub and then increasing the actual workout time. some days I do a whole strength training workout, somedays I walk 3mph for 20minyes and 20 in the hot tub, the gym just feels like relaxing place to check out though so I make the effort to go. I think lifetime is the only dc gym the offers this though. I move to the midwest and there are a lot of these social club type gyms here.
