Lamar would be ashamed. I am always skeptical of anyone with wealth who is "volunteering" for multiple nonprofits. That means they show up, get their photo doing their so-called good deeds, and leave the hard work to the unsung behind the scenes. The second big red flag is when they start their own nonprofit. I think every decent publication should have an automatic link in the story to the organization's IRS info. Nonprofits are a dime a dozen now and there appears to be no oversight. So you will see people like this exploit it as nothing more than a way to make themselves look good, get some great tax advantages, claim all kinds of b.s. as their nonprofit expenses and then throw a couple of bucks at the actual mission. As for her photo spread, I can simply point out the hypocrisy that she, "... also works with New Friends New Life, which provides services and assistance for those victimized by human trafficking."
+1 That said, this photo spread is a cringy way to go. Maybe this is a Midwest cultural thing? She looks cheesy and trashy by East Coast standards, but so does her mom in that red dress picture.
