It's much better than other places where the student is NOT allowed on campus fall semester. AT UMD, the students live on campus, have the full college experience, can meet people outside of just the "Spring start kids". They just get to take their limited classes after 4pm (or whatever time). It's much better than a true spring start where you don't integrate into campus until January---when all the freshman have already made their friend groups. If your kid wants UMD and you want in-state tuition, it's an easy choice. [/quote]
