Yes, my DD was offered spring admission. Gee, I thought her scores were pretty good. 4.68 Weighted, 3.98 1400 SAT APS with 5 's ya da da da da . Not sure she'll go.
Great stats but I think it was the SAT score. UMD may not want to include in US News stats.
Thats a great SAT score and grades. Spring Admission is absurd but I'm assuming they do it to balance out those who drop out mid-year.
They are balancing out students that graduate in the fall (either early or late) and also filling in for travel abroad. Spring admitted students can participate in Freshman Connection https://admissions.umd.edu/enroll/admission-decision-faqs/freshmen-connection They can move into campus housing and participate in clubs and sports, but they take classes in the evenings. "Freshmen Connection offers a superb selection of UMD courses which fulfill major and General Education requirements. Credits and grades post to the Maryland transcript and are included in the Maryland GPA. Courses are taught by University faculty in campus classrooms 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
