At our school, kids scored high enough on the MAP at the end of 4th to move to 5/6, but the parents didn't realize this and it wasn't until the fall that they discussed moving to 5/6. At that point, kids did not have time to catch up, which is the excuse the school used to keep them in math 5. [/quote]
