These things are not in the short or long-term transportation plans for Potomac. Furthermore, to the OPs first point, the county took a historic look at housing and land use to produce a new general plan called Thrive 2050 that had the organizing principal of “compact growth”. Developing Potomac contradicts that principal and as a result, River Rd north of the Beltway to Potomac was specifically and unanimously determined to not be a “growth corridor” for housing densification.[/quote] Planning said we can add transit and buses in the River Road corridor. That’s why the part inside the beltway is a growth corridor in Thrive. It was supposed to be a growth outside the beltway into Potomac too but Friedson made them take it out. [/quote]
