[/quote] OP again- I think a lot of cars make a U-turn here because they really wanted to make a left at the intersection before, but the wait there is longer. If they go up to the next light and do a U, they can quickly go back and make the right turn (if that makes sense). I never pay attention long enough to see if this is always the case, but considering how many U-turns I see at this intersection it is my guess. [/quote]
