Did you used to need a time in each event? Maybe it was a club-specific requirement but my kid didn’t qualify despite def having the points bc didn’t have a time in one specific event. This was pre pandemic.
As a meet requirement, no. They are required to enter every event at the meet though.
I don't believe this is correct. You have to swim all to get your points. Below is from USA swimming: https://www.usaswimming.org/times/imx-imr How do I qualify for IMX/IMR? An IMR or IMX score is only established after a swimmer has swum all of the events required for their age group in a sanctioned meet since the start of the current season; both short and long course seasons start Sept. 1 and end Aug. 31 for IMR/IMX purposes. Additionally, a swimmer must complete all of the events in the same course (SCY or LCM) to have a score in that particular course.
That’s for a score, not the meet entry requirements. You will see a few NTs in entries. Our group doesn’t do this meet with 13-14s, but there is nothing to prevent my 14yo with 3000+ points but has never swum a 200 breast to enter (and first swim it at IMX meet).
