How do I get the score?

I don’t think so, the points have to be accumulated in the current season. This rule is more for the kid who turns 11 say in December, but in October and November had completed all the IMX events with enough points to qualify for the 9-10 group. That kid is allowed to compete in the 11-12 IMX event based on their accumulated 9-10 points.
If your swimmer got 1800 points between 21 Sep 2021 and the end of May as a 12 year old, then yes- he would be eligible. It’s in the meet announcement.
I would ask your coach. It feels like a lot of misinformation on this thread. For example, I think points readjust by age. The same swim will score differently at age 11, I think than age 12. But I am not positive.
Yeah, I would definitely ask the coach since the rules aren’t exactly the clearest. For example, my kid is 10, and is about 210 points short right now. They will swim the events where they need to pick up some points at January’s meet, but they also don’t age up until May, so does that mean they can qualify for this years 9-10 IMX and then use the same points to qualify for next year’s IMX meet as an 11 year old?

As a meet requirement, no.
They are required to enter every event at the meet though.
I don't believe this is correct. You have to swim all to get your points. Below is from USA swimming: https://www.usaswimming.org/times/imx-imr
How do I qualify for IMX/IMR?
An IMR or IMX score is only established after a swimmer has swum all of the events required for their age group in a sanctioned meet since the start of the current season; both short and long course seasons start Sept. 1 and end Aug. 31 for IMR/IMX purposes. Additionally, a swimmer must complete all of the events in the same course (SCY or LCM) to have a score in that particular course.
That’s for a score, not the meet entry requirements. You will see a few NTs in entries.
Our group doesn’t do this meet with 13-14s, but there is nothing to prevent my 14yo with 3000+ points but has never swum a 200 breast to enter (and first swim it at IMX meet).
You should not see NT for 14 yo.. but thee will be few for 13 as they qualified as 12 and age up before the meet.

Last year, there were 3 NT entries in the boys' meet. https://www.pvswim.org/2122meet/22-107rm.html In one case, the kid got a time in the NT event after the meet entry deadline, but still before the meet started, such that he had a time in all 5 events. I think the kid without a time in the 200 BR snuck in under the age up rule, i.e., he used his 12 year old times and IMX score, at the shorter distance(s), to qualify even though he was 13 when the meet occurred.
