So far, DC has been pretty good about the rules. But he would never let it out of his hand if possible.

If your child has access to conversations with friends. It's probably not necessary right now. But your child probably feels "left out" because they don't have the modern equivalent of the 1980s designer jeans or a phone line in their room (which I didn't get until I was 16!).
