[/quote] We are a family of 5 and ended up renting an apartment through VRBO. It was so much easier for us. We were in a non-touristy neighborhood (we booked too late to snag a place closer), but even then with iPhones, buses, and Metro (plus an occasional Uber), it was very doable. I was a little sketched out about renting, but was very careful to only book a highly rated host (who had a couple properties, had many excellent reviews (including very recent ones). I think if you look and book now, you can get a nice place in a highly desirable neighborhood. Rome is such a great place![/quote]
