What is AMC 10 A/B?
A new theater
That gave me a chuckle. But seriously, I have a kid in ES—what is it?
It is a math competition test. I believe AMC stands for American Math Competition
It's for up to 10th grade. One of my kids started taking it at 11, but a lot of it is beyond them at that age.
There's also an AMC 8. Anyone in enriched math in MCPS is invited to try it during Middle School.
You would have to get your school registered within a few weeks.
Many colleges and universities offer AMC 8 and 10/12. If your school is not offering AMC 8, and any of these locations are nearby, you could contact them and ask for your child to take the AMCs with them. Here's the list: https://amc-reg.maa.org/amc_external/amc_higher_education_sites.aspx?ContestType=AMC8
